The Sanibel Island puzzle by artist Donna Elias celebrates one of Florida’s favorite Gulf Coast islands. In short, this 550-piece jigsaw puzzle is a colorful vacation memory.
About the Artwork
The Sanibel Lighthouse has been a landmark on the island since 1884. In this design, Donna Elias celebrates the lighthouse and the island around it.
In addition, Donna Elias’s soft watercolor style gives the island a gentle, inviting feel. As a result, the puzzle is relaxing to build.
If you enjoy this design, be sure to look at Lighthouses of Florida and Lighthouses of the Gulf of Mexico, also by Donna Elias.
Sanibel is also famous for its shell-covered beaches, so many visitors spend their mornings beachcombing. Similarly, the island’s quiet charm makes it a favorite getaway, and this puzzle brings a bit of that calm home with you.
Where to Start
Start with the border, then build the lighthouse, using its shape as a guide, since it stands out right away. Next, work on the beach and shoreline. After that, piece together the water and island details. Finally, fill in the sky, sorting those pieces by shade.

I hadnt put together a puzzle in many, many years! Due to our COVID-19 stay at home order I knew we wouldnt be able to head to Sanibel Island in April as originally planned. So, I decided to order a Sanibel puzzle! This was a fun & pretty puzzle to put together. Now I’ve ordered a puzzle of the sea shells on Sanibel & Captiva.
