Peterson’s Backyard Birds of the Northeast puzzle features art by Roger Tory Peterson of 77 of the most common backyard birds in the region. In short, this 550-piece jigsaw puzzle is a beautiful field guide.
About the Artwork
The region includes Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and upstate New York.
In addition, each bird is carefully illustrated with its true colors and markings. As a result, it’s a great way to learn the birds at your feeder.
With 77 species to build, every bird becomes a small puzzle of its own.
Roger Tory Peterson’s field guides helped millions of people learn to identify birds, so this puzzle is a treat for bird watchers.
Where to Start
Start with the border, then build the largest and brightest birds, since it stands out right away. Next, work on the birds one row at a time. After that, piece together the smaller species and their labels. Finally, fill in the background, sorting those pieces by shade.
