M22 Puzzle

The M22 puzzle by photographer Peter Doran is a whimsical tribute to one of the most beautiful drives in America. In short, this 550-piece jigsaw puzzle celebrates Michigan’s favorite road.

About the Artwork

M-22 is a 116-mile stretch of road that winds through scenic countryside. It passes through Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau Counties in Michigan.

In addition, the drive follows the Lake Michigan shoreline, with beaches, dunes and small towns along the way. As a result, it’s a favorite summer road trip.

Because the design is playful and full of detail, it’s fun to build a section at a time.

Where to Start

Start with the border, then build the road sign and lettering, since it stands out right away. Next, work on the road and landmarks. After that, piece together the trees and dunes. Finally, fill in the water and sky, sorting those pieces by shade.
