Sunrise Pier Puzzle

What could be prettier than watching the sun rise above a fishing pier? The Sunrise Pier puzzle by photographer Peter Doran is a 550-piece jigsaw puzzle full of spectacular color.

About the Artwork

The sun rises over the water as the pier stretches out toward the horizon. It’s a peaceful moment that many early risers on the coast know well.

In addition, the color in this puzzle is spectacular and sure to delight puzzlers of all ages. Warm sunrise tones reflect across the water, giving the scene a soft glow.

Because it’s a photograph, the puzzle captures the real shapes of the pier and the natural colors of the morning sky.

Where to Start

Start with the border, then build the pier, since its posts and railings give you strong lines to follow. Next, find the sun and the brightest part of the sky. After that, work on the water and its reflections. Finally, fill in the remaining sky, sorting those pieces by shade.

For example, work on it with a cup of coffee, just as the sun comes up. Also, it’s a lovely way to remember a sunrise walk on the pier.

It also makes a thoughtful gift for anglers, photographers and anyone who loves the coast at dawn.
