Bring the working waterfront home with the Dockside Catch puzzle by artist Larry Jones. This richly detailed 550-piece coastal jigsaw puzzle centers on a bushel basket overflowing with fresh blue crabs.
About the Artwork
Around the basket, you’ll find weathered rope, crab traps and colorful buoys. Meanwhile, a rustic crab shack sits in the background, full of dockside character.
From the worn wood planks and tangled nets to the faded painted floats, the artwork is packed with visual interest. As a result, every section gives you something new to study.
Bright blues and weathered nautical colors create a striking finished image. The mix of natural textures and coastal details makes this puzzle especially satisfying to put together.
Where to Start
Start with the border, then build the blue crabs, since their bright color stands out against everything else. Next, work on the colorful buoys and the crab traps. After that, piece together the rope and nets, using their texture as a guide. Finally, fill in the wood planks and the crab shack, sorting those pieces by shade as you go.

A Dockside Catch Puzzle for Coastal Lovers
Overall, at 550 pieces, it’s a comfortable size for an afternoon or a relaxing weekend. The rich textures keep it engaging without becoming overwhelming.
For example, leave it out on the porch table during a summer beach week. Everyone can stop by and add a crab or a buoy between trips to the water.
It’s also a great choice for anyone who loves crabbing, seafood, marinas or life along the coast. In fact, it makes a natural gift for boaters and anyone with a beach house.
Framing Your Finished Puzzle
When you finish, the puzzle measures 18″ x 24″, a standard frame size. Then glue it, let it dry flat and hang it in a kitchen, den or coastal cottage.
