Hop on the bike for a day of fun with the Beach Cruising puzzle by photographer Peter Doran. In short, this 550-piece beach jigsaw puzzle captures the easygoing spirit of a ride by the shore.

About the Artwork

There’s nothing like a slow ride on a beach cruiser with the ocean breeze at your back. This photograph brings that relaxed, carefree feeling right to your table.

Because it’s a photograph, the puzzle captures the real colors and details of the scene. In addition, the bike gives you a strong focal point to build around.

Photographer Peter Doran has done it again. If you enjoy his work, be sure to look at Coastal Sunrise and Sunrise Pier too.

Where to Start

Start with the border, then build the bike, since its frame and wheels give you strong shapes to follow. Next, work on any details nearby, such as the basket or the sand around it. After that, piece together the background. Finally, fill in the sky, sorting those pieces by shade.

A Beach Cruising Puzzle for Summer Days

Overall, at 550 pieces, it’s a comfortable size for an afternoon or a relaxing weekend at home. In addition, the bike makes a fun first section for younger puzzlers.

For example, set it up at the beach house and work on it after a morning bike ride. Also, it’s a cheerful reminder of summer during the colder months.

It also makes a fun gift for cyclists, beach lovers and anyone who owns a beach cruiser.

Framing Your Finished Puzzle

When you finish, the puzzle measures 24″ x 18″, a standard frame size. Then glue it, let it dry flat and frame it for a beach house, garage or mudroom.

  1. Madelyn McAlexander –

While the majority of this puzzle was enjoyable, we definitely weren’t ‘beach cruising’ the whole time. The large portion of monochromatic sand was frustration-inducing. We liked the bike.
