Miss Molly, Miss May Puzzle

Two rugged boats ride out the weather together in the Miss Molly, Miss May puzzle by William Mangum. In short, this 550-piece jigsaw puzzle captures a quiet moment in a sheltered inlet.

About the Artwork

The boats sit at anchor in the inlet like two sea-going friends cozied up for shelter. Meanwhile, trouble brews out at sea.

Like William Mangum’s other coastal puzzles in our collection, the artwork feels peaceful and full of character. In addition, the boats give you strong shapes to build around.

As a result, it’s a great puzzle for anyone who loves working boats, harbors and coastal stories.

Where to Start

Start with the border, then build the two boats, since their hulls and names stand out right away. Next, work on the water around them and its reflections. After that, piece together the shoreline of the inlet. Finally, fill in the sky, sorting those pieces by shade.

A Miss Molly, Miss May Puzzle for Boat Lovers

Overall, at 550 pieces, it’s a comfortable size for an afternoon or a relaxing weekend. In addition, the boats and their reflections give you two clear sections to build before tackling the sky.

For example, set it up on a stormy day, just like the scene in the picture. Also, it’s a fun way to talk about the boats you’ve seen in your own local harbor.

It also makes a thoughtful gift for boaters, fishermen and anyone who loves the working waterfront.

Framing Your Finished Puzzle

When you finish, the puzzle measures 24″ x 18″, a standard frame size. Then glue it, let it dry flat and frame it for a den, office or beach house.
